Strong Phase 3 Results

Strong Phase 3 Results

MoonLake Immunotherapeutics (MLTX) announced strong one-year results from two Phase 3 trials of its experimental drug sonelokimab in patients with hidradenitis suppurativa. The company reported that approximately two-thirds of treated patients achieved a high level of disease improvement after 52 weeks, while about one-third experienced complete clearance of inflammatory lesions under the study's key endpoints. No new safety concerns emerged during the year-long trials. The results strengthen MoonLake's case for sonelokimab as a significant competitor in the growing market for hidradenitis suppurativa treatments. The company plans to submit a Biologics License Application (BLA) to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration by the end of September, with potential approval expected in late 2027 or potentially earlier if granted Priority Review designation. The data also provide support for use in adolescent patients, potentially expanding the addressable market. MoonLake's stock may benefit from this positive news, particularly as investors consider the company's regulatory path and commercial potential for sonelokimab beyond hidradenitis suppurativa.
