Methane Reduction Milestone

In addition to earnings expectations, the company has announced a 60% reduction in methane emissions from its natural‑gas pipeline system in 2025, based on data submitted to the California Public Utilities Commission. This decline exceeds the state’s 2025 target of 20% and PG&E’s voluntary goal of 45% by 2030, following a 52% reduction in 2024. The reduction was achieved through targeted leak repairs, advanced mobile leak‑detection surveys, transmission blow‑down reduction, and replacement of high‑venting devices with no‑venting alternatives. The milestone further advances PG&E’s commitment to a net‑zero greenhouse‑gas emissions system by 2040 and a climate‑positive energy system by 2050.
