ArcBest announced a 5.9 % general rate increase for its less‑than‑truckload (LTL) services effective June 22, marking a move earlier than the company’s usual 11‑month cadence. The hike is paired with a revised second‑quarter outlook that now projects a 600–700‑basis‑point improvement in operating ratio for its asset‑based unit, which includes ABF Freight. ABF Freight is already reporting a 10 % year‑over‑year lift in freight mix and a 5 % rise in tonnage, and the company now expects a sequential operating‑ratio improvement of 6–7 percentage points.
