Canada Joins 212CD

Kongsberg Gruppen announced that Canada’s decision to join Norway and Germany in the 212CD submarine program will open contract negotiations for Canadian participation. The Norwegian defence technology company supplies the combat system on the 212CD submarines through kta naval systems, a joint venture between Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems and Atlas Elektronik. Canada’s planned program covers up to 12 modern submarines, with contracting expected to be completed by the end of 2027 and the first four submarines due for delivery in 2034.
