Uber Delivery Expansion

Uber first approached Delivery Hero in May with a €38 per share offer that was considered too low by investors. If the takeover proceeds, it would merge Delivery Hero’s extensive food‑delivery network—spanning Europe, the Middle East, Asia, and Latin America—into Uber Eats, potentially creating the largest global delivery platform. The consolidation could draw scrutiny from antitrust regulators because of overlapping footprints. Uber’s broader strategy includes strengthening its food‑delivery business and expanding into grocery, travel, and local commerce, with an expectation to generate an additional $1 billion in gross bookings over the next three years through expansion into seven new European markets.
