Strategically, Alaska Air re‑affirmed its goal of $10 EPS by 2027 and remains committed to a dual‑brand strategy that includes Hawaiian Airlines. The company has ordered 110 new Boeing aircraft in January, its largest capital outlay to date, to support a broader global network. In 2028, the airline will replace the 717 fleet on the Neighbor Island service with Boeing 737‑800s featuring premium interiors and free Starlink Wi‑Fi, operated by Honolulu‑based crews. Concurrently, Alaska Air will double its cargo capacity by adding four Boeing 737‑800 Converted Freighters (BCFs), expanding the freighter fleet from five to nine. The BCFs are slated to enter service in the first half of 2027, be based at Honolulu in Hawaiian Air Cargo livery, and are projected to deliver $150 million in new annual profit under the Alaska Accelerate plan. This expansion will serve Alaska and Hawaii communities and integrate with the passenger network for onward distribution across the United States and select overseas destinations.
