MRD Diagnostics Split

Adaptive Biotechnologies announced a strategic split of its Minimal Residual Disease (MRD) diagnostics unit from its Immune Medicine segment, targeting completion by year‑end 2026. MRD has expanded from $103 million in revenue in 2023 to $212 million in 2025, with an adjusted EBITDA of $15 million in 2025. The company claims that clonoSEQ, its flagship MRD assay, is now embedded in routine clinical practice and drug development, covering more than 300 million lives and supporting over 180 active biopharma trials. Immune Medicine, which operates a proprietary discovery platform powered by AI, is viewed as better positioned to unlock value outside a diagnostic corporate structure.
