SmartIQ Low‑Dose Imaging

SmartIQ Low‑Dose Imaging

Royal Philips announced the launch of SmartIQ, a coronary imaging technology for its Azurion image‑guided therapy system, to be showcased at EuroPCR 2026. SmartIQ delivers high image quality while employing an ultra‑low X‑ray dose protocol that cuts radiation by over 50 % relative to the lowest dose settings available with Philips ClarityIQ. A blinded clinical pilot published in the Journal of the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography & Interventions found that SmartIQ scored higher on image quality and was preferred in the majority of comparisons, all while maintaining or lowering radiation and contrast dose. The product is CE‑marked and available in Europe and selected markets on both new and existing Azurion systems; it has not yet received clearance for use in the United States. Philips will demonstrate SmartIQ at EuroPCR 2026 alongside other innovations such as IntraSight Plus, a platform that merges diagnostic and treatment‑planning tools for confident PCI decisions, and a broader portfolio that includes DeviceGuide, VeriSight Pro 3D ICE, and Hemo R2. The company’s strategy at the event emphasizes a unified workflow that integrates imaging, physiology, AI‑enabled guidance, and dose‑management technologies to support clinicians in managing procedural complexity while preserving procedural confidence and reducing staff exposure.
